Swimming Carnival

Masada Wins in 2010 small.jpg

The Heritage College Swimming Carnival was held last Friday on a perfect day at Morisset Pool. The two swimming teams, Gamla and Masada, fought it out for the team trophy, and Masada won the day. All the students competed with a positive team spirit and we were overwhelmed with all the enthusiastic cheering! We were thrilled to see so many parents, grandparents and friends in attendance and cheering very loudly.

Well done to all the children who participated and gained excellent results. Congratulations to the captains of the two teams who motivated their team-mates really well.

Thank you to all the teachers and parents who assisted with officiating and organising the event.

Senior Tennis Team Reaches HRIS Grand Final

The Heritage College Senior Tennis Team reached the final of the HRIS (Hunter Region Independent Schools) Tennis Tournament and came within a whisker of winning the Open Champions Trophy. They won the semi-final and progressed to the final against Central Coast Adventist School. In the Final, our team won two of the four singles matches and one of the two doubles matches, but was beaten in a countback on overall points won. Congratulations to our four tennis players for their great result.

New Kindies Start School

DSC01036_2.jpgThe new kindy students were very excited to attend the first day at Heritage College. The students were all wearing new uniforms and were already aware of many of the expectations due to their experience in Transition Class in fourth term last year. We hope all our new kindies have a fantastic and fun first year of school at Heritage College. Their teacher, Mrs Hardy, has some exciting things in store for them to learn. I'm sure they are all looking forward to reading their first reader and writing some exciting stories.

Heritage College Melbourne

We are very excited to hear of the commencement of a Heritage College in Melbourne. The first day of classes was held on Feb 2. There have been many years of work invested into the project and it has finally reached fruition. The Principal is none other than the very experienced Mr Bill Lunn. We pray for God's blessings to be showered on the new school, its staff and students. Photos and other information can be viewed on their new website at www.heritagemelbourne.com.au

Best Wishes to our Year 12 students of 2009

Jessica & Eleanor.jpgJessica and Eleanor, like many before them at Heritage College, have successfully completed their HSC and are commencing their post-secondary studies. We have thoroughly enjoyed having them at Heritage College and we wish them every success for their future plans.

We thank our HSC teachers for 2009 for teaching our senior students so commendably.

The new cohort of senior students have commenced their HSC subjects for 2010 and we encourage them to work hard to achieve their very best.

Jessica and Eleanor were very positive School Captains in 2009. The Elections for new captains and SRC for 2010 will be taking place in February. All students are invited to nominate preferred candidates.

My School Website

The Federal Government has published every schools NAPLAN results on a website called My School (www.myschool.edu.au). Every parent and stakeholder can view every school's results on this website. It even compares schools with the National Average and also with 60 schools with similar contexts. I recommend that every parent utlilises the site for the purpose it has been provided. Heritage College has performed very well and we commend the work of the teachers and the results of the students.

The Sydney Morning Herald used the My School website to compile a ranking list of every primary and secondary school in NSW. I attach these lists here for your interest. In summary, Heritage College was ranked 58 out of over 600 NSW High Schools, and 71 out of over 1000 NSW Primary Schools. A great result!
