The Big Cookoff

Joseph, Jacob and Jacob (JJJ) and their cookingOn Thursday the Junior High School students held a big cookoff. They divided into groups of 3-4 and cooked their planed menu of 3-4 scrumptius courses. Then, once the cooking was completed, the teachers and parents sampled the cuisine and voted for the tastiest and best presented dishes. It was delicious! Well done to all the students who took part. Pictured here are 3 boys who made up one of the cooking teams.

Easter Show Excursion

The whole school will be going on an excursion to the Easter Show on Friday 28 March. The children will be able to look at the exhibits of farm life, from animals, produce and crafts. There will also be parades, woodchopping and other shows especially for school children. It should be lots of fun, and we would like parents to come along to help with supervision. Should be a great day!

HRIS Primary Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to all the students who took part in the HRIS Primary Swmming carnival, held at Lambton Pool today. Every student who participated did their best, from the youngest grade 2 student, to the biggest year 6 student. Well done everyone.
And thank you to all the mums and grandparents that came along and cheered the children along during the day. And parents also helped out by fulfilling official duties in timing swimmers.
Thanks everyone! It was a fantastic community effort.

Sydney Aquarium

The Primary Class are studying the "Underwater World" in first term this year, and they visited the Sydney Aquarium as part of their studies. They had a great day and marvelled as they walked under the sharks as they strolled through the underwater viewing area. A fantastic day!

Cricket Match

Heritage College Cooranbong played a 20-20 game of cricket against Heritage Sydney on Tuesday. It was a beautiful day and the two teams were looking forward to the match. The final scores were Heritage Cooranbong 114, Heritage Sydney 58. Thank you to both teams for the spirit in which the game was played. Congratulations to the Cooranbong team for winning. We hope there will be more matches of this kind.

Swimming Carnival

The Heritage College Swimming Carnival was held last Friday and it was a huge success. The students all took part in events and it was well supported by parents and friends. Congratulations to Gamla, the winning team on the day. It was good to see Gamla do so well, given that Masada has won the Trophy for the past several years. Congratulations also to Jordan Ryan and Lori Stretton who won the "Best Senior Swimmer" and "Best Junior Swimmer trophies respectively. Thank you to all the parent helpers on the day.

Welcome Back to 2008

Welcome back, everyone, for 2008. It looks like being an exciting year at Heritage College. Once again it is great to see the smiling faces of all the students as they return to school and see their friends again. May God bless our plans for this year.

Special Meeting

There will be a Special Parents and Friends Information Evening held on Tuesday 5 February in the School Assembly Room at 7:30pm. This evening will outline what 2008 has in store for Heritage College, God willing. The details of the new site will be shared with the community, and the plans will be explained. There will also be two special guests from Adelaide Heritage College - James Mansfield and Brian Luke.

We encourage everyone to come along. Bring a plate for supper if you can.
