Years 11-12

Mr Morgan

We are pleased to have David Morgan coming to our school in 2009 to teach HSC Biology to our year 11-12 class group. He has spent his last few years teaching at Heritage Sydney and this year he will be at Sydney for three days and Cooranbong for two days. We really appreciate his assistance this year.

HSC Exams

The HSC Exams begin this Friday. We wish all our HSC students all the best for their exams. English is their first exam. The exams run over approx 3 weeks. The exams are held in the Cooranbong Community Centre.

Seniors Go Skiing

The Senior Snow Trip with Bayer T-Shirts posing in pristine Perisher SnowThis week the Senior students travelled to Perisher Blue to spend 3 days skiiing in the beautiful Snowy Mountains. The weather was wet on the first day, but cleared on the second and third days to become perfect skiing weather. The students had a fantastic time skiiing and snow-boarding. The parents and teachers who attended also enjoyed themselves and were thankful when everyone arrived home safely with no injuries. We thank everyone who assisted with the camp, including: James and Jenny Higgs, Steve and Fiona Carroll, Wayne and Jo Wiltshire and Mat Wallace. We also thank Bayer, who kindly gave us some community sponsorship money and released Mat Wallace from work commitments to assist in the supervision and mentoring of our students during the trip. Thanks Bayer! Much appreciated.
The Senior Snow Trip was a highlight of the year. It will be long remembered - particularly the futile attempts of our snow-boarding boys to beat the teachers to the bottom of the mountain in the official speed race. It was lots of fun.

School Captains elected

The elections for School Captains and SRC representatives were held this week. Our two school captains for 2007 are Emma Higgs and Matthew Wiltshire. Congratulations to these two successful candidates. We wish them all the best for their last year at Heritage College.

In addition to the School Captains, the SRC representatives were elected. They are: Eliza Davis, David Lynch, Jessica Ginn, Adam Wiltshire, Jordan Ryan, Jesse Carroll and Joshua Dangerfield. Congratulations to all these students.

There will be an assembly held next Wednesday at 10:30 am to induct our new School Captains and SRC representatives.

Classes commence in 2007

Classes have commenced for 2007 and year 11-12 students are encouraged to commence the year in an organised and efficient way. Students need to keep class notes neat and tidy, avoid missing classes wherever possible, and study new material each night. Students will be sitting for Maths, English, Chemistry and Biology exams this year.

TVET courses commence at TAFE this week. Students are taken to the train when required, but students must return home by their own transport arrangements.

High School Field Trip

There will be a High School Geography Field Trip to Seal Rocks in August. This will involve camping out and learning about coastal environments and also doing some orienteering. Students will be required to cook all their own meals! The teachers don't have to eat it, though!

School Formal

Heritage College held its Formal for Senior students at Awaba House on Nov 28. The senior students from year 10-12 all attended to celebrate their successful completion of their year of senior schooling. The year 12 students, in particular, were commemorating the end of the secondary schooling. It was a very enjoyable evening. Congratulations to all our year 12 students!
